I have a few ps2 games that pcsx2 cant emulate very well and I thought as good as some stuff with RPCS3 is running it might handle them better - I can always hope that maybe eventually Thanks 5 share Report Save Continue this thread level 2 3 years ago What if Patreon supporters request it -1 share Report Save Continue this thread level 1 Original Poster 3 years ago edited 3 years ago Wow what a lively discussion Didnt intend to start all that, there are 2 of my old favorites from the PS2 era that pcsx2 cant emulate well yet, as mentioned Okage shadow king and the other was Primal which is the one I was talking about. I use pcsx2 and its pretty good for most of my games, and its gotten leaps and bounds better than it was years ago, I was just thinking maybe this would be a workaround. Doesnt sound like it will for the foreseeable future, either way I hope pcsx2 continues to improve and get better, I know everyone brings up dolphin as the gold standard and its great that everything actually will boot now, but even it has work to be done in my opinion, not slamming any of the emus, just a fact of life. Thanks everyone for looking though and commenting, and thanks to any and all emulator contributers, no matter which emu youre working on, Im just happy to be able to play the majority of my games on the go without hauling around all the consoles 2 share Report Save level 1 3 years ago Theres no point to PS2 classics on RPCS3 because PCSX2 already exists. Report Save level 2 Original Poster 3 years ago Its not that we want it or need it, but the point of this emulator, as with most emulators I believe, is to get the emulation accurate to the machine theyre emulating. So although there may not be a reason to with another emulator doing the PS2 emulation, it may become a possibility due to revisions in making it accurate. Plus as I said, there are certain games that PCSX2 cant seem to handle right, and it might eventually I was just curious if RPCS3 could boot them and play them better because of a different set of instructions from the emulator, thus handling them better. Even Cemu is able to boot and run virtual console titles, again, even though other emulators exist for those titles. Plus, as most in the community would say, its not a matter of why you want to or why when you can do this, its because, why not We have some of the most amazing people working on stuff and sometimes its just great to say, look what I can do:) 2 share Report Save View Entire Discussion (32 Comments) More posts from the rpcs3 community Continue browsing in rrpcs3 rrpcs3 RPCS3 is an open-source Sony PlayStation 3 emulator and debugger which currently supports Windows, Linux and BSD systems.
